Sex, sexuality, and gender diversity
Knowledge and language around sex, sexuality, and gender are always changing, and we may not always get it right the first time around.
We live in a time when our access to information on the internet means that we can learn about sex, sexuality, and gender diversity far quicker and more in depth than what our parents and grandparents were ever taught.
However, sometimes, we might feel overwhelmed with new and unfamiliar information. Sometimes it can be difficult to tell what is true or false, or what we should or shouldn't believe. New information can surprise us, or maybe even be intimidating, if we’re challenged on our previous beliefs about sex, gender, and sexuality. This is especially true if this new information goes against some of the things we’ve been taught in our own families, and in mainstream culture.
We’re all learning as we grow. It's important to be respectful, to learn from our mistakes, and to stay curious.
Human diversity is far more complex, interesting, and beautiful than we can even imagine. Let’s stay open-minded and open-hearted. Let's not put other people down for being different from ourselves.
